Operating Principle

Turbines experience thermal expansion during startup and operation. Uneven expansion between the housing and infrastructure can create significant stress, potentially causing oblique or tilt changes in the enclosure that lead to misalignment. If the sliding foot wedge becomes tight against the enclosure, serious consequences may result.

The DF9032 thermal expansion monitoring device accepts two LVDT (DC linear displacement transducer) signals to monitor the thermal deformation of the enclosure. LVDTs are installed on both sides of the chassis in absolutely fixed positions. The device monitors the deformation difference between both sides, allowing operators to set alarms and take early corrective measures.
