Product Description
Burkert Type 6480 High-Pressure Servo-Assisted 2/2-Way Piston Valve up to 1000 Bar
Product Overview

The Type 6480 is a servo-controlled piston valve specifically designed for hydrogen applications with a nominal diameter of 8 mm. Engineered for ultra-high-pressure industrial fluid control, this valve delivers safe, precise, and durable on/off regulation for extreme-pressure process systems.

Key Features
  • Hydrogen-resistant screwed valve body
  • Function test with forming gas at nominal pressure
  • Piston system with mechanical seal bearings
  • Explosion-proof variant ATEX and IECEx
  • Inspection holes for monitoring the process seal
  • Maximum operating pressure up to 1000 bar
  • Minimum 5 bar differential pressure required for actuation
Technical Specifications

The valve requires a minimum differential pressure of at least 5 bar to support the opening and closing process. To enhance pressure resistance in hydrogen contact, the plunger guiding tube and stopper are screwed together.

Certified 3.1 materials suitable for hydrogen and carbon-coated magnetic steels are used. Each valve undergoes functional testing at maximum nominal pressure, with external leakage at nominal pressure rated at 5 x 10⁻⁵ mbar l/s.

Applications & Performance

Specially optimized for hydrogen and high-pressure gas applications, the Type 6480 is purpose-built for hydrogen compression, high-pressure storage, and hydrogen refueling station systems. Its reinforced structure effectively prevents deformation and leakage in high-pressure hydrogen service scenarios.

The compact yet robust design minimizes installation space while maintaining long-term low-wear operation. Optional push-over coil is available as zone 1 or category 2 explosion-proof variant upon request.
