Model 2088 Low Power


Current procedures for installing, configuring, and maintaining the Model 2088 Smart Low-Power transmitter are identical to the Model 2088 Smart transmitter with 4-20 mA output, see manual 00809-0100-4690.


The current wiring diagram and Model 275 HART fast-key sequences for the Model 2088 Low Power option are shown below.



Mount the transmitter


The following are approximate weights of each transmitter:


 Rosemount 2088 2.44 lb (1,11 kg)

 Rosemount 2090F 2.74 lb (1.24 kg)

 Rosemount 2090P 2.96 lb (1.34 kg).


In many cases its compact size and light weight makes it possible to mount directly to the respective apparatus without using an additional mounting bracket. When this is not desirable, mount directly to a wall, panel, or two-inch pipe using the optional mounting bracket



Electronics housing clearance


Mount the transmitter so the terminal side is accessible. Clearance of 0.75-in. (19 mm) is required for cover removal. Use a conduit plug in the unused conduit opening. Three inches of clearance is required for cover removal if a meter is installed.



Environmental seal for housing


Thread sealing (PTFE) tape or paste on male threads of conduit is required to provide a water/dust tight conduit seal and meets requirements of NEMA® Type 4X, IP66, and IP68. Consult factory if other Ingress Protection ratings are required.


For M20 threads, install conduit plugs to full thread engagement or until mechanical resistance is met.



Mounting brackets 


Rosemount 2088, 2090F, or 2090P transmitters may be panel-mounted or pipe-mounted via an optional mounting bracket (option code B4). See Figure 3-1 on page 32 and for dimensional and mounting configuration information.
